Crescent City Jazz Festival
There is no other city in America that embodies jazz quite like New Orleans, Louisiana. American Classic Tours and Music Festivals invites you to come and enjoy the wonder found in this amazing musical experience as you enjoy the culture of one of the world’s most unique cities.
Jazz Ed Network founding member Mary Jo Papich serves as artistic director for this dynamic festival for vocal and instrumental high school, college and university jazz ensembles. Participating ensembles will perform with New Orleans jazz musicians as soloists, and all participants will benefit from clinics presented by top jazz professionals. Festival clinics and performances take place on Friday, and public performances in the French Quarter are arranged on Saturday. Each group will receive a plaque and medals will be awarded to outstanding soloists.
Tour packages include a dinner cruise aboard the Steamboat Natchez, a 1,200 passenger authentic steamboat that cruises the Mississippi River from her home in the heart of the French Quarter. Festival participants also enjoy a special performance at Preservation Hall, the French Quarter musical venue that was founded to protect, preserve and perpetuate traditional New Orleans jazz.
